About Me...
Rawah Arja is a writer and teacher from Western Sydney. Her first novel The F Team (published by Giramondo) has been shortlisted for numerous literary awards including the Ethel Turner Prize for Young People’s Literature and the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Writing for Young Adults. Her writing has featured in Second City: Essays From Western Sydney, Arab, Australian, Other, SBS Voices and at the Sydney Writer’s Festival. She has received a fellowship from WestWords Varuna Emerging Writers’ Residential Program as well as judged the Russell Prize Humour Writing Award for the State Library of NSW.
In addition, Rawah has been a teacher for over a decade teaching students from different parts of Sydney in both primary and secondary schools. She now enjoys helping students find joy in writing facilitating both face-to-face school workshops as well as online tutorials.
